Linden Turns 3!

On Wednesday, my sweet Linden turned 3! I can’t believe it has already been 3 years since I became a mother to this wild boy. He is the joy of my heart. I am surprised by him daily. He is the smartest, sweetest, silliest, most funny kid I have ever met. He is also the most independent, strong willed and opinionated person I know, besides myself!

I asked Linden a few of his favorite things:

Favorite color: “red”

Favorite animal: “ummm giraffe!” (it changes daily)

Favorite food: “peeeettzzuhh” *pizza (said in a deep, slight zombie voice?)

Favorite story: “Golahf” (David and Goliath)

Favorite number: “3!” yesterday it was “fixteen!”

Favorite toy: “Thomas” ( the train )

Favorite place: “Parties! Parties are places!”

Favorite shape: “hexgons” (hexagon)

We also saw his Dr. today and got his 3 year stats. These numbers are a far cry from our teeny baby boy who dangled around the 1st-5th percentile for the first 4 months of his life!

Height: 37.21 inches (44%)

Weight: 35 lbs (81%)

Last weekend we had a pirate themed costume birthday party. Linden dressed like Jake from the Neverland Pirates and Lilah was the cutest baby pirate you ever did see. Steven made a cute wooden plank for the kids to walk. We also had a cannon ball toss game and pin the eye patch on the pirate. Our house is so small that is was a bit of a nut house. Especially since we armed 10 toddlers with gigantic blow up swords!

Here are some pictures of his pirate party last weekend.

He is growing so fast. It was a blessing for dad and I to come up for his birthday.

Thank you for doing that! We appreciate the sacrifice so much. Linden and Lilah enjoyed it beyond all else!

Through tiny people's tantrums, quotidian duties, marriage, grief, and way too much Netflix, there is Beauty with a big B. It's fragrant, it's healing, it's distinct. This is how I gather bouquets of thorny, wild Light - still covered in dirt and probably a few stinging bugs. It's a bit messy here, but I'm honored to have you and I hope you find some of the Good Stuff.
